Where are we?
Astley Hall, Coach House and Park is located minutes away from Chorley town centre, and off junction 8 of the M61.
Astley Park can be accessed by multiple entrances: the Hallgate entrance (off Chancery Road) which is the entrance closest to Astley Hall, the Coach House, cafe and shops and has a free car park. The park can also be accessed by foot through the town centre entrances (through the main gates off Park Road or from Queens Road car park), and also via Ackhurst Lodge (Southport Road) by foot with a walk through woodland to access the Astley Hall end of the park. There is a free car park next to Ackhurst Lodge.

By car

Chorley is easy to find, just off juntion 8 of the M61. From there follow the many tourist signs to Astley Hall, which is to the west of the town centre, through Astley Village taking you to the Hallgate end of the park. Alternatively you could park in Chorley town centre and walk through Astley Park (from the Park Road entrance or through Queens Road car park) to Astley Hall.
By bus
Chorley is served by regular buses from surrounding areas. from Chorley bus station, the 109A/B bus services runs every hour to Astley Village.
By train
Chorley is on the Blackpool/Preston/Manchester line, only 30 mins from the centre of Manchester, with Chorley train station approimately 20 minutes walk to Astley Hall, through the Astley Parks entrance on Park Road.
Euxton Balshaw Lane train station (on the Liverpool/Wigan/Preston line) is approximately 30 minutes walk to Astley Hall.
Parking
The Hall Gate entrance to the park has a free car park (just 300m from the front of the Hall).
There is also plentiful low cost parking in Chorley town centre should you choose to access the park from the Park Road entrance. Some town centre car parks offer free parking after 1pm on Saturdays and all day Sundays. Information on town centre car parks can be found here.
You'll also find Ackhurst Lodge car park (free) off Southport Road, next to the woodland/lodge entrance to the park.
Opening hours and admission information
Astley Park itself is free to enter, however there is a small admission fee for entry into Astley Hall. You can find the hall's opening hours and admission fees on the Astley Hall web page.
Groups, organised visits and coach trips
Astley Hall is happy to welcome group and coach visits to the Hall for both self- guided visits (during general opening hours) and guided tours (on Tuesdays and Thursdays) with discounted tickets for groups of over 10 people.
Coach visits must be booked in advance to arrange parking and refreshments.

Schools and Colleges
Astley Hall has a wide offer of sessions on offer to Primary and Secondary schools, all linked to the National Curriculum. We are happy to create bespoke sessions with teachers given enough time.

Toilets
Public toilets are located at both the Farm House and Coach House (upper floor accessible by lift), close to the hall Gate entrance. Open 8am - 4:30pm daily.

General accessibility information:
Astley Hall
- The ground floor of Astley Hall is accessible to wheelchair users. The flooring on the ground floor is a mixture of flags (Great Hall and Kitchen area), wood (passageways and Morning Room) and carpet. Upstairs it has a mixture of wooden floors (all main rooms) and carpeted corridors.
- There is no lift available inside of Astley Hall – additional information materials are available on request for those who are unable to access the first and second floors of the building.
- There is no hearing loop system in place
- Interpretation in rooms is set at appropriate heights according to museum guidance
- Audio transcripts are available on request and video elements are subtitled
- Background music is played on occasion in the Hall but can be turned off if requested
The Coach House
- The Coach House building has a Radar bathroom on the ground floor. The key is available on request to those who require it from Cafe Ambio
- A lift provides access to the first floor and Coach House Gallery
- The Coach House Gallery is wheelchair accessible.
The Park
- The surface underfoot from the car park to the Hall and Coach House is gravel or tarmac and is level
- The terrain in the park is flat around the Hall itself, with some gentle gradients in the pathways through the park.
- Main paths through and around the park are tarmac or gravel and wheelchair accessible
